TODAY, the name KYM NG suddenly popped up.
It has been eons ago since I last met up with KYM.
It's like etching out a piece of memory from the past.
It has been a long time since .....
My ADVERTISING friends used to compare Singapore actress KYM NG with CHERIE CHUNG, an extremely popular Hong Kong movie star in the 90s.
"Don't they look alike?" they enthused.
At that time, KYM had just left her job as a flight attendant and was focusing on a full-time modelling career.
She was fast becoming one of the top, albeit most sought after in the Singapore fashion photography industry.
KYM was effervescent: always kind, polite, sweet, diplomatic and easy-to-work-with.
And everybody loved her professional working attitude.
Besides, she was a "chameleon-type" fashion model who can give you a gamut of glamour poses.
And still managed to look refreshingly different in every photo assignment.
In the late 90s, she ventured into singing and signed on as a recording artiste with Singapore Hype Records.
She then started her ascent into the flimsy world of show business.
KYM is a survivor in the fickle entertainment industry, and a good one at that.
Her talent, like fine wine, mellows year after year.
She is currently contracted to MediaCorp Singapore, and wears a twin folio - Actress cum Host.
Her first foray into feature film was a made-in-Singapore movie called GONE SHOPPING, directed by award winning WEE LI LIN.
KYM NG is an astute professional with a magnetic personality - and stands out in a sea of new artistes who display more attitude than aptitude.
She's still going from strength to greater strength.
Viva, KYM!
