“MALAVITA” Movie Review. Entertaining Mobster Drama, Bloody Mayhem. Whatever.
“MALAVITA” PRESS PREVIEW
Cross my heart, “MALAVITA” is an Italian description of the “underworld”, so kindly watch your back.
This film is also titled as “THE FAMILY” in designated parts of the world.
It is touted as a mobster comedy, to seduce your attention with its promise of bawdy fun …
And hey presto, you are next cringing with disbelief at the mindless killings and explosions.
In summary,”MALAVITA” is a farce glossed over with a violent streak, a smart thriller headlined by ROBERT De NIRO and MICHELLE Pfeiffer. and backed by a mesmerizing supporting cast.
The renowned director LUC BESSON indulges in blood-splattering fun and prolongs it for laughs ….
yet along the way, he sprinkles precarious tortuous scenes depicting crazy mobsters storming amid a murderous rampage that’s bound to keep anyone on edge.
Robert De Niro plays a notorious New York mobster, now a pariah on the run with a hefty bounty on his head for mobster betrayal.
He and his family (Michelle Pfeiffer, Glee’s Dianna Agron, and John D’Leo) are settling into their latest home in France. thanks to the witness protection program.
Unbeknownst to them, the imprisoned gangsters who are now released are trying to locate the snitching family for revenge.
Please take note that LUC BESSON was responsible for the spectacular Liam Neeson’s runaway hit TAKEN (2008).
”MALAVITA” is funny, fast-paced as well as brutally shocking.
This gritty feature may be able to jolt your senses after a tense build-up.
It is worth a go.
Just check this one out.

“PARANOIA” MOVIE REVIEW. Not Bad, Not Good, wherefore runs the Parallel?
“PARANOIA” PRESS PREVIEW
Just say “beef” and you ‘ll get this Australian beefcake on your platter.
Whether he is a delectable piece of ham depends on how you rate him.
The taste of the pudding is in the eating, isn’t it so?
You will see this hunk attired in designer suits and casuals.
As well as in all forms of undress to eagerly display his well-toned bod and six packs.
And he is magnifique.
The young actor is a 23 year old young’un called LIAM HEMSWORTH.
Little wonder if”PARANOIA” is a movie project crafted for him and for his myriad of drooling female fans.
Supporting actors HARRISON FORD and GARY OLDMAN stay safely in the background playing second fiddles.
This is an hard edged corporate thriller.
It is a parable about thwarted ambitions and how the thirst for easy money and power have their setbacks.
LIAM HEMSWORTH is Adam, a young executive working at entry level at a tech company runs by Nicholas Wyatt (GARY OLDMAN)
Adam is as spotless as a sheet, but wants more out of life, envious of people he knows who are stooping to con in order to move up the corporate ladder.
He has an ailing father (Richard Dreyfuss) and loads of hefty medical bills to pay.
When he and his team are fired from their jobs, they decide to commiserate and overspend on their company credit card.
Strangely, the following day, Adam’s is confronted by his former boss and given an ultimatum – to face jail time for fraud charges or infiltrate another tech company run by HARRISON FOR’s Jock Goddard, Wyatt’s former mentor and now business enemy.
Seduced by the lure of money and to save his skin, Adam is torpedoed into a world of corporate espionage and is soon on the run from the corporate rogues who want his life.
A merry-go-round game of cat and mouse, and a web of deception ensues, culminating to a final broil.
Where will all this be leading us to?
ROBERT LUKETIC is the film director and AMBER HEARD is the pegged add-on female interest.
It may not be a tour de force, but could have been a slick, fast paced and entertaining movie with a tense build-up.
“PARANOIA” has an admirable supporting cast to boot marred by a lack-luster script.
Blame it on the film director’s creative vision and plot treatment.
The end result is what you get.
Now, ham steak anyone?

“THE INTERNSHIP” Movie Review. Sit Up, Chum, There’s a Whole Lot More Going.
“THE INTERNSHIP” PRESS PREVIEW
Don’t expect this movie to kick off with a big wham bang.
It does not, but it survives its welcome, nonetheless.
”THE INTERNSHIP” is an entertaining, goofy piece of gem that might well warm your heart amid uplifting your spirit after a hard day’s grind.
There’s a lot more going if you are prepared to dig deeper.
So go for it.
OWEN WILSON and VINCE VAUGHN happily make a come-back with this bromance comedy, after almost a decade since their last sex ribbing farce “Wedding Crashers.”
Directed by Shawn Levy and co-written by Vince Vaughn and Jared Stern, “THE INTERNSHIP” features Vaughn and Owen Wilson as Billy and Nick, two irritating fast talking watch salesmen who are laid off when their company closes.
Whilst googling for job possibilities, Billy discovers the Google has plans for a summer internship program.
And after passing the required-webcam interview, the duo find themselves at Google HQ in Palo Alto, competing against dozens of teenage tech-savvy geniuses.
The middle aged pair found themselves caught in a pandemonic team headed by nerdy leader Lyle (Josh Bremer) alongside brainy outsiders Stuart (Dylan O’Brien), Neha (Tiya Sircar) and Yo-Yo (Tobit Raphael).
In every good there’s always the bad, therefore we have a scheming trouble seeking intern Graham (Max Minghella) who is determined to take them down.
As time wears on, the unlikely friendships are tried and forged.
The plot may be cliched and formulaic, but it does have a heart and some soul in the right place.
Sweet, hilarious and heart-warming are superlatives to describe this movie.
And thank goodness that it is an enjoyable movie, unlike the regular slapstick that makes no sense.
Go check this one out.
